Valentine #2 Strictly Ballroom

A shortened clip from one of my favorite movies, Strictly Ballroom.  the song is the lovely “Time after Time”.   A wonderful movie for this day of love.  later today, my husband and I will be watching the DVD of this, yet again and dancing along.  We aren’t Fred and Ginger, but we love Ballroom Dancing, this movie, and each other.

Love is in the air – in the movie and today for Valentines Day.  Love to you all.  and find someone to dance with today!!!!

This is a great movie. I prefer Cyndi Lauper’s rendition of this song, actually, but… still… one of the best parts of this movie.

*sigh* We have an excellent dance instructor, in our church congregation, even, but… lack of $$.

We took lessons the first few years were married. A very good and competitive studio offered excellent packages and an every two week event Open House dance. Members who compete would act as mentors and give free advice and tips just for love of dance. We’d dance with other students and instructors who wanted to try out new steps or work on routines. A great deal of fun in a non-bar dance atmosphere. Hubster and I will, when available, check out televised competitions for hints, tips, steps. We have also found films for free at the public library and online. It comes down to us making time and taking effort to do. We enjoy very much and are actually quite good at Viennese waltz, ballroom tango, and rhumba. Good exercise and beats sitting on our duffs watching tv and spending so much time on the computer. His father is in hospital not doing well so this valentines ended up being very quiet.
