dVerse Poets Pub: Quadrille – Hope

De is our pubtender today at dVerse. She is giving us the word “hope” to use in our quadrilles. What is a quadrille? It is a poem of exactly 44 words, excluding the title. A prompted word is to be used in the poem. Any derivative of the word hope is accepted. I have included one of my favorite songs from the now defunct program, Enterprise: Strenght of the Heart. I hope you all will listen.  This song has gotten me through some hard times.  I hope it will bring hope to your heart.  It keeps me from negativity!

Hope

As long as there are stars in the night sky
As long as trees endure,
As long as children sing and play,
As long as people share goodness with each other,
As long as we have love in our hearts
I will have hope.

I love that song, though disliked it for not being Trekkie enough at first. It is a bit of an anthem. The new STAR TREK: DISCOVERY series knocks my knickers off.

A lovely list poem, Toni! As the Beatles sang, ‘love is all you need’.

Nice song by Russell Watson. It is the first time I heard it. It looks like hope will never go away.

Cool! I liked it as well. My local Trekkie group was real into esp. for cosplay. I really liked Enterprise, esp. because I’ve had a thing for Scott Backula. ?? it took place in the “early” days before the “original”. Glad to know this about you!

Thank you, Toni. For this song (I listed to the whole song) and your words. Yesterday it was the four year anniversary of my husband’s 6-minute cardiac arrest (not a heart attack — it just stopped) and tonight if the four year anniversay of his opening his eyes while on life support and coming back to us. It’s always been an emotional two days for me. My daughter insists on being with us on Columbus Day and we had our grandkids Saturday, Sunday and then she joined us yesterday. So there were tears in my eyes listening to this song. Thankful for every day….and for the power of hope, angels along the way, and the technological advances in the field of medicine.

No reason to limit the scope of hope with so many openings and opportunities. It is just an unwillingness to explore. Very true Toni!
