No Water – Oh Well

New Year’s Day –
the toilet wouldn’t flush.
No water from the faucet either.

the temp on New Year’s Eve
was -1F.
Well, the pipes froze.
Of course they did.
I bought 10 gallons of distilled water
to put in the tank to flush the toilet.
Plumber came.
Pipes fixed –
no signs of splits.
In the hall 10 empty plastic jugs.
I filled them with water again.
I imagine those jugs will stay there
until July –
just in case the pipes freeze again.

Oh I like the dry humor in this.

Thanks. It wasn’t any fun. As rough and wild as I was in my “yute”, I have grown extremely soft. I drank coke and juice so that was fine. But oh that toilet that wouldn’t flush.

I hope you get through the rest of the winter with no more problems. I like the wryness in this, but my heart went out to you.

The high today will get up to 16. They froze again last night. I’ve seen two plumbing company trucks on the road today for two houses in our little neighborhood. We are on the schedule for late this afternoon. I am so glad I got smart and filled up the emptied out jugs with water yesterday. What a pain in the butt. We haven’t had lows like this since 1926. I keep a small dish tub filled up with food for the cats. I’ve seen squirrels and dogs wandering by eating. I’m not sure where the dogs came from but they are welcome.
