Nice! Quick question — is “hawk” associated with a particular season?

Winter. It is always associated with winter although around here, they are in the sky year around. Taka is the Japanese word for hawk. A lot of Japanese women are called Taka….odd hey?

We see hawks here in the desert, circling, hunting. They are stunning birds of prey. According to Southwest tribes–the Messenger, telling us to pay attention to what the moment is telling us. Your haiku–also stunning.

O love the mythology around the hawk. We have several varieties around here. I’ll never forget, several years ago, driving down a country road, a rabbit darted out in front of me and I slammed in the brakes. Before it could make it to the other side of the road, a red tailed hawk swooped down and plucked it up carrying it away. I will never forget the scream of that rabbit going to its its death.
