The end of the World as We Know It

Day 9 of Nannernoopoo over at Real Toads, #30 in 30.  today the prompt is Waiting. I am also posting to Poets United midweek motif – vision

The end of the World as We Know it
The Celestial Zookeeper
took us from the sky – She laid
us here until her final return –
We sank into this earth until
only our outlines remain –
until the Celestial Zookeeper returns.
When she returns we will again
walk the heavens
until we turn off every star
and the universe sleeps in darkness

I love the whole idea of a Clestial Zookeeper. LOL. I hope we dont ever get put in charge of the night sky, we would only mess it up.

Are geographs the same as petroglyphs. NV is rich in the latter, and I have to think so. Very timely and evocative, raw.

Geoglyphs are carved into the earth. Petroglyphs are painted on rock. These things are huge and have been photo’ed from outer space. They are on conjunction with Machu Pichu and their amazing spiral shaped water collectors outside in the Nazca desert. I flew over them years ago. Vast and amazing that they were dug into the earth by hand and lined with small rocks…with no paper instructions or diagrams. Truly an ancient miracle.

Sounds like a dull, monotonous life. Waiting on the whims of the Zookeeper to continue a regulsr life, whatever that might be. Makes me like mine all the more.

I adore these images – have watched a number of shows on the Nazca images and there are people waiting …

As do I. I became interest in university when I was going for my ME and needed to take more science courses, so I took archaeology. It ended up being the best choice for me.

A grim vision, but perhaps sadly accurate.
