Today at Real Toads, Gillena is prompting us with Francois Villon’s poetry. We are to read a poem and pick a line from it with a quote and use the quote to construct a poem. Day 15 of NANONUCLEARMELTDOWN. I am going short and sweet today.
“so, round the world he goes, but return he will,” The Ballad Of The Proverbs – Poem by François Villon
Point A to Point A
she started at Point A and went directly west.
she continued on until
she wound up back at Point A again.
She shook her fist at the sky
and laughed grandly:
Thus to the flat earthers!

We were taught in school that during Columbus’s time people thought the world flat – but that’s not true. Sailers knew it wasn’t – perhaps some uneducated crewman didn’t know but anyway… I digress. The image cracks me up – my cats will paw at something on the table an inch at a time and each time look at me as if to say… feed me or else 🙂

I like this also, Toni. I have a routine post on my “Ask Dr. Jim” blog that will tell you where you will come out if you try to dig straight down to China. http://jimmiehov8.blogspot.com/2007/12/dig-to-china-dig-hole-to-china-just.html There is a group called the ‘Flat Earth Society.’ Perhaps they are on Facebook. I did join the Dragon group for larks. Your picture is great also, one can’t help smiling over it.

Thanks Jim. I am aware of the flat earth group on FB. I subscribe just to have something to laugh at on a daily basis. I too loved the kitten.
