Live or Memorex?

For Hedge’s 55. I have harkened back to a long gone ad campaign in which music was taped and replayed.  The question was, Is it live or is it Memorex?  Well….nuff said.  Here is my response:  real people doing art among real people on the street, with a message:

Live or Memorex?
Is anything real anymore?
Holographic representations of women
screech and dance on a “stage”
moving like JarJar Binks in drag,
The sun is a hologram in the sky –
Who cuts it off during the night?
Facebook friends never meet you for coffee.
Total strangers (especially widowed men)
want to become friends.
The lonely is real.

Hatsune Miku – a holographic “singer”

We live in a time when everything feels photoshopped, manipulated, traduced from its real self even when it is real–excellent 55, and I am old enough to remember those ads. Thanks for playing Toni.

Yes, it can seem that way, and maybe it “really” is that way. Maybe in truth, nothing is really real? As all things are changing, nothing stays the same.

LOL, all I know is these desperate men on facebook, even though I have “married” on my profile, are always wanting to be friends, especially widowers. It is passing strange.

    The lonely is real.

    That says it all.

Thank you Kerry. It is amazing how many widowed men send friend requests. They are all deleted of course as are any from people I don’t know (99.9%). But it is sad.

The last line is terribly real, and true for so many. And, you know? I never really paid attention to the widowed men wanting to be friends on virtual space before. But know that you mention it, I does come to mind that most of those questionable friend requests (the creepy ones where the requester seems to collect girls) come from self-professed widowers. People can be such strange creatures.
