Harvest

For Poets United Midweek Motif – Abundance.

Harvest
“Skills can be taught. Character you either have or you don’t have.” Anthony Bourdain

A bushel basket full of freshly dug potatoes,
Yellow squash and zucchini,
Green beans and tomatoes, peppers –
Heaped up, running over.
The last of the harvest of my garden.
The vegetables have been shared with neighbors.
and now at the end of the season
the basket of goodies will be shared
at the Food Bank.
I use the abundance of my training as a chef
to share and cook there.
The smiles will grow like my garden.
Abundance in its purest form.

Ah, I love this positive enforcement of abundance — the nature’s gift abundant in its scope and quantity, eventually turning into a gift for those who need it. It’s wonderful how you use your training in extending support to the community.
This made me happy: “The smiles will grow like my garden./Abundance in its purest form.”

Thank you Anmol. It gives me great joy to share talent and harvest, part of the harvest is gleaned from fields so people can pick and supplement their food allotments, and we cook the leftovers to supplement their diets. They appreciate the efforts of us all.

The best kind of abundance….even better when shared with the food bank. So cool, Toni.

Indeed! I see all these people going out of their minds over this billion dollar lotto jackpot and i think, geez, forget that, I don’t even need it. I’m happy as a clam with what I have. Now who’s abundant? 😉 I love the picture…is that yours?
