Flower Truck
“The Earth laughs in flowers.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

I have a truck full of laughter.
I’m gonna plant it everywhere in my yard.
My neighbors think I am crazy but I don’t care.
I am gonna plant a flower everywhere I had an animal die
and I buried.
I think that will be fitting.
They gave me so much love and laughter in my life,
I can let them know how much I love them still.
Yeppers.
I’m gonna plant the whole damn truck full
and go and get some more.

Yeppers is right. Every so often, I say each of my old dogs’ names aloud, just so they know they are not forgotten. (They would probably laugh at the notion of me ever forgetting them–they know that will never happen!)

Nope. I Don’t think you would ever forget. Nor do I ever forget all the cats and dogs in my life.

Love the spirit in this, Toni,
and a very good use of the flowers for the outpouring of your love on those you love.
    Enjoyed the read.

Love “Yeppers” . . . never heard it before, but I am just a stiff upper-lipped Englishman, abeit with a sense of humour (note the correct spelling! . . lol) . . . lol (a laugh within a laugh). I see “Coalback” says it too.

(PS. Hello! and nice to meet you!) . . . Eddie 🙂

Thank you Eddie. Yeppers is a Toni-ism. Coal stole it from me along with fuckos, as in hot as fuckos out here. Nice to meet you as well. BTW. You may be a proper Englishman but I received my MFA by writing about the latter Victorian period, Oscar Wilde, and the hypocrisy of.those times. I clocked in a lot if time in London, in the British Museum reading room, and at Oxford studying and researching.

Yes, yes! Plant on! Let the neighbors wonder about the how and why of your plantings.
