Flowered Flourless Cake

For Magaly’s Prompt on Real Toads, using homophones.

Flowered Flourless Cake
“Your body is not a temple. It’s an amusement park. Enjoy the ride.” – Anthony Bourdain

This quote comes to mind whenever I cook something –
decadent, stylish, awesome –
few things are more satisfying
than a flourless cake
frosted with dark chocolate ganache
and decorated with real flowers
especially on a spring day –
I prefer flourless to gluten free,
especially made with ground hazelnuts
and almonds and a lovely shiny ganache.
Placing the flowers about is such
an easy and joyful task!
Decorate your temple on the inside.

That cake may be flourless, but it sounds divine Toni! I love that Anthony Bourdain quote as well!!

It is one of my favorites of his. Whenever my MIL starts bawling about too much fat, caffeine, too much cream, I always tell her this.

There is something about cake–flour or not–that makes itself lovable, isn’t it? And right now, especially as spring dances in (slowly), who doesn’t a flower or three?

Yes it is. I keep hazelnut and almond flour in the freezer and also the ground nuts as well. I love a dark bittersweet ganache. with or without real flowers.

My choco cake is gone. Someone must have stole it. Yes, I am sure that must be what happened… 😉

This sounds so delicious, and using nuts instead of flour just adds to the taste…

I can’t tell you how badly I’d like to taste that.

I don’t usually love typical flour cake — just the icing. But I think I could seriously get down on yours.

It sounds delightful. I am such a poor cook. I so love the idea of decorating the temple inside.
