Snowing in my mind

A haibun of 107 words in the manner of Basho for Izy’s pillow fort prompt on Day 11 of NAPOWRIMO

Snowing in my mind
I don’t have a bed or pillow fort. But I do have a set of cool satin sheets I love to roll on after my husband has gone to work. I love the cool feeling against my skin; especially during the hot spring and summer when I get so hot, even in the air conditioning. I lay in the silence of the morning and look at the grey light coming in between the blinds. I pretend it is snowing. I love snow. I love the coolness of the satin sheets.
hot summer mornings –
it is cool in thoughts
of snow rather than sun

Good for you. I looked at this prompt and went, motherrr macreee. I, too, love winter and snow. In fat, summer is my least favorite season. The only 2 things I really like about it are the greenery, and Zac being able to run around outside as he loves to do.

The sheets sound excellent. There is nothing worsde than when the pillow/bedding gets hot and there you are, roasting.

Think cool, Toni. There are songs about satin sheets, might they do if I don’t have any satin sheets? 🙂

I have bamboo sheets, also comfy……..and, in winter, warmer leopard-spotted ones. I love winter too though this year we didnt get one here.

That sounds delightful. I don’t do well in cold weather, pain issues. I do love seeing snow falling.

I have pain issues as well. But to honest, I’d rather walk around in the snow with bad pain than walking around sweating with no pain in the heat. I come 8nside and cry with the pain of the cold leaving my body. Getting hot makes me angry enuff to chew rocks, lol. I feel for your pain. People just don’t have a clue.

What is the saying…”One persons trash is another treasure”? I am glad there is someone wishful for snow. I really liked the description of the cool sheets and how your narrator relishes the empty space once the husband leaves for the day. Well done and viva la.

I agree with you about hot summer mornings, Toni, and enjoyed following your words with my imagination, especially the silence of the morning with the grey light coming in between the blinds – I love that time of day!

3thank you for the reblog Frank. I am doing 44 word haibun for dVerse quadrille prompts every other Monday as well. The last one, Aces and Eights is about the death of my father.
