The Rose

For Sunday Muse BlogSpot #71.

The Rose
“How much has to be explored and discarded before reaching the naked flesh of feeling.” Claude Debussy

She flies through the air like a rose
flung to a conquering hero or
into a bullfighting ring
or into the garbage bin at the curb
when the love has gone sour.
Off to the landfill or maybe,
plucked from the top by
someone with an eye for discarded beauty.

Oh i love every line of this Toni! The bittersweet glory of a rose or a flaming beauty unafraid of taking risks! It is gorgeous!

Raw image… a discarded beauty on top of a garbage heap. The price I suppose of risk taking. To risk or not to risk…another one of those questions.

What a fantastic image… the rose flung to a hero. As if throwing herself into the ring.

We both had a rose in mine with a much different outcome. You never know where a rose will land.

Oh, Toni! those closing lines are so wonderful. Indeed, no life is too terrible, if one has the hope for something better.
