Extinct Moon

Extinct Moon
“Now that I’m older, I have a much better appreciation of nature, and I love being alone.” – Gia Coppola

from this day forward
I am wedded to the stars.
the moon becomes extinct,
no longer shines
guiding us along our way.
I’m trying to be like the stars in the sky
shining on nothing;
waiting till the end of my days,
for you.

So poignant Toni. I love ‘wedded to the stars.’

This is mystical and metaphysical and as light as a particle of light. Beautiful.

Luxuriously mystical, and poignantly romantic, too! Bravo!

I like this perspective on the stars: “I’m trying to be like the stars in the sky
shining on nothing” I hadn’t thought of them shining on nothing before.

I really get the sense of longing in this, Toni. It is romantic but there’s a wistful sadness about it too.

Don’t ask for the moon… The stars are more constant.

I love the thought of being ‘wedded to the stars’ and ‘shining on nothing’. But, unlike the moon, the stars have each other.

I hope the “you” arrives sooner than expected.

The nothing that is everything…that’s the place to shine. (K)
