An American Sentence for the Prompt today at Real Toads. We have a mystery guest with a list of words. I know who it is!!!! And she makes amazing word lists.

“The flood subsides, and the body, like a worn sea-shell emerges strange and lovely.” – D. H. Lawrence

Shells like strewn lemon sticks on the shore of an onyx sea speak to me.

    This is why this form was invented. Exquisite work.

      LOL. I like your comment but Ginsberg invented the form because somehow, he couldn’t write haiku which he loved. Thank you so much for the wonderful list of words, I did about 5 Sentences before I found one I liked. You need to post more of your poetry girl. You are astounding.

        I was going to suggest you write a whole batch of these with the list! I’m glad you had fun. 🙂

        Thank you. {Blushing.}

          I wrote several of them. This was the only I felt good about. I actually take more time working out an AS than I do regular poem. Very precise and surgical work.

    Beautiful. I love the winter beach … not many tourists and I have found it layered, like a quilt, with shells undisturbed. Sigh.

    Your sentence speaks so many visuals to me. I too long to hear the sea speak to me.
