I have been given awards by several wonderful people. I’ve got the post ready to go but…..I’ve forgotten or either I can’t get the awards to display on my page.
Could someone help me please?? Thank you!!!!

But that is just for the post….it isnr for display on my website. I see the widget for images, but can,t remember how to get it on the widget. I am making myself crazy-er. Thank you for snswering.

Put the image in your media library. It then has a unique url. Put that url into the widget. If you need a better explanation of how to get that url, email me on the address you can see now I’ve commented – or leave me a comment on my blog’s contact form.

No guffawing from moi. I can’t get my widgets to work not do anything technically other than copy and past links. Even had friends send me instructive videos to no avail. You have my understanding and sympathy. Hugs!

Another way is: Right click on image and use copy image url. From your dashboard, go to appearance and then widgets. Choose the “Image” widget, Right click in the “image url” box (second from top) choose which sidebar and position you want it to appear and click “save widget” (blue button on the bottom.) Done. 🙂

I would note that WordPress has some good help support pages on how to create an Image widget like this. (I suspect that Clowie knows about this 😉 )

It appears you have already solved your dilemma. Had there been no entries here, I might have suggested that you simply examine the widgets you have already used and do what you have already done. “Works every time,” as they say.
And I am a “techie,” I suppose, so that is how I sum it all up. If you do need more help with widgets, you have only to ask. Also… up the list of comments there is one that made me think a bit. I realise that my site is not a “no awards” site; I simply do not accept awards. Can you answer the riddle regarding how these to states differ, or rather in what way these two states, seemingly at odds with one another are, in point of fact, completely compatible. I believe I am feeling all Zen about the nature of it all….

I reverse engineered but it still didn’t work so I figured I was doing something stupid. the person with “no awards” has not been nominated for any, which is truly a shame. it is a very interesting and well written blog about the war in the pacific and korea.

Did you ever send me a link to this blog? Also…. Make sure that this is not a cache issue. The awards might appear to your friends, but not to you until you clear your cache. In firefox, you can also reload a page while holding down the “shift” key to accomplish this.
Still, I have found there are a few features of wordpress which will resist even this. For this recalcitrance, I will use a different browser and see what transpires.

My husband’s father is in hospice, dying, so the greater part of my attention is going to him and some is going to my work. I feel badly for him.
