Quadrille: The Great Journey

Mary Grace today is the prompter for the quadrille.  She has given us the word “journey” and especially in tribute to Vivienne Blake whose died July 5. She is sorely and dearly missed. A quadrille is a poem of exactly 44 words, not including the title, and must include the prompt world.

The Great Journey – For Viv

The journey began when first she put
pen to paper and wrote the words in
her soul. she shared those words
and her soul with others through the years.
The journey ended when her great heart
Ceased to beat, but her words still live.

Yes, her great heart was the source of all the beauty she shared/sowed/sewed! For me, the ability to write and know that the words will outlive me is a way of making up for the fact I have no children.

Sweet Toni. She’s left quite a legacy of writings that we can still visit…and photos as well.

Beautiful tribute. I did go to her website and spent quite some time there after we learned of her death. It’s true. She’s left a legacy for her family in her words and in her quilts. For us who only knew her by her words, she touched us too.

I am sure she would be very touched by your words. You have honoured her spirit and given wings to her words in this piece.
