the full moon flutters
on the surface of the pond
lone cicada sings

    the flutter of the moon is brilliant – makes me think of cicada wings and rippling reflections – as usual you nailed the brevity of imagery

    I like the idea of the moon dancing on water as she’s serenaded by a burning bug… Nature paints such lovely pictures.

    There is something about the song of the cicada that grabs me. Right now, though, it’s quite hot here but it is the song of frogs that greets us at night…lots of them looking for a little nookie, I suppose. Zoe tries to get them when David takes her out at night and then when she manages a lick, she vomits green. Ah, nature.

      Dogs love licking frogs for some reason. This sound of cicadas is the sound of summer from my childhood. I love sitting on the backstory watching the fireflies and listening to the cicadas.

    Some people hate the buzzing of cicadas. I’m not one of them. If there were only one, I would feel cheated. Give me a cicada chorus!
